Celebrate World Oceans Day – June 8th

June 8, 2023
Filed Under: Ocean Health, Human Health

The ocean covers 72% of the planet and connects us all. A healthy ocean is vital for healthy people and a healthy planet.  The 30 x 30 pledge to protect 30% of US oceans and land by 2030 steers us in the right direction.

There has been a sea change in environmental policy with the Biden administration. President Biden signed an executive order to conserve 30% of the US oceans and 30% of US land by 2030 (30 x 30).  This ambitious goal will protect and restore biodiversity as well as combat climate change for the benefit of humanity. The US joins 50 other countries who also recently made the 30 x 30 pledge.

What are you doing to celebrate World Oceans Day? Tiny habits have ripple effects and make a difference.
